Jones and Modha a sustainable perfume business based in Bristol, was born because Catrin, who runs the business, was struggling herself to find sustainable perfumes.
I was looking for natural sustainable perfumes and really struggled and having looked into it realised there was very little on the market therefore during the pandemic I decided to create something beautiful myself alongside my business partner.
We’ve harnessed the power of plants because we wanted to take perfume making back to its roots, with pure, naturally derived ingredients. Jones & Modha no.1 is a sophisticated natural perfume, expertly blended in Somerset using pure essential oils. Made in small batches, it reacts naturally with the skin’s oils to create a natural fragrance unique to each wearer. To enhance your experience of wearing this natural perfume, we hope you find that the properties of plant oils bring their own benefits of calm, uplifting, bliss. Each batch may vary slightly, as you would expect with something completely natural.
A deep frustration with commercial, mass produced, synthetic perfumes forced us to search for something better. We believe in working with our environment, not against it and soon we realised that if we wanted a natural scent that ticked all the boxes, we’d have to create our own. One that is kind to people, animals and planet and that smells divine. No compromise.
Jones & Modha no 1 natural perfume does just that, bringing together the ancient traditions of natural plant alchemy and the sophisticated techniques of precision blending. We’ve left out the synthetic ingredients and chemicals you can’t pronounce. We’ve omitted the extra plastic packaging and cellophane.

“Lockdown has been a real eye opener. I launched the first perfume in Sept during the pandemic. The shops then closed again so had to sell online but the issue is people want to smell the product therefore it was massively challenging.”
People who had already bought and loved it gave us lovely testimonials etc and we combatted the sensory issue by developing sample bottles online.
