The Find- Coffee House and Artisan Kitchen in Cheltenham is run by David Orme and his team. Offering a haven from the outside world,
The Find takes its inspiration from the coffee houses of 17th and 18th century England. “It’s our wish that The Find serves as a convener in our community; a place where everyone can come and linger a while, whether that’s over a superior cup of coffee or a long, lazy lunch.” says David.
Their story:
Set up four years ago, lock down has been a real learner David, giving him the opportunity to completely reevaluate everything that they offer to ensure they survive the pandemic but also give their customers the best experience.
“When you accept the business might fail, it’s a weight off your shoulders. We had been worried to try so many things before lockdown from staffing levels to the menu” says David. He had the opportunity to see what works and has come back with a simpler menu, more of a focus on niche products, new opening hours, new style of food delivery and a staffing restructure.
“We have found a way to create a wonderful experience for our guests which fits the automated, table order guidelines but does not lose the personality of The Find” says David.
Over lockdown The Find, Cheltenham has tried a number of amazing things including developing their treat boxes- gorgeous branding, lockdown love boxes, Sunday roast boxes, picnic boxes. Some of which they may decide to keep for their relaunch.
For reopening The Find is working with a number of other independent hospitality businesses in Cheltenham with a collective called Turf. All businesses are run and owned independently and are very excited to welcome the people of Cheltenham back soon with their auction campaign “The Very Very First” where they are auctioning off experiences of the very first pint, cocktail, meal or dining experience post lockdown.
