Belle Diva is a high end ladies fashion boutique based in Knowle, Solihull. Jayne Vaughn has been running the business for 11 years now and prides herself in serving her clients with the finest fashion from around the world and impeccable customer service.
Many collections in Belle Diva are only stocked in luxury places around world like Harrods and Selfridges, therefore the items are something people won’t see on the high street daily.
Jayne says “ I have been in the
fashion industry all of my life, my mum is Pat Burrows, she had a famous dress shop and I worked with her for 10 years, she taught me how to buy and sell and I a forever grateful”.
Belle Diva team is made up of Nikki the manageress who generally runs the day to day business and Jayne see’s herself as more of the creative director. Lauren comes in and does social media twice a week and they have someone looking after the accounts.
Jayne says I” never buy anything that I don’t like or I won’t sell it. That is number 1 and number 2 is that I buy with clients in mind”.
Belle Diva has a top 100 clients list and Jayne likes to buy internationally particularly the best. Italian fashion which is synonymous with beauty.
Jayne adds “I Would prefer to buy English designers such as Kevin John who creates gorgeous dinner and wedding outfits. Would love to find people that manufacture beautiful fashion that work for my demographic in the UK”
Their story:
“I Will never forget the day we had to close the store in 2020 due to the pandemic. It was like a grieving process. However I am a strong woman and I picked myself up, got the team together and agreed the plan for how we keep the business going during lockdown” says Jayne.
They focussed their efforts on learning social media and began to run Facebook Live auctions where clients would receive a catalogue before hand so they knew what items would be for sale, sizes and reserve prices and then on the night they had a DJ and topless waiter to entertain the clients watching.
”we sold out of 80% of our stock when we did the auction and are now going to run them regularly even though we are open as our customers love it” Jayne adds.
Jayne is looking at how her wonderful fashion can appeal to a wider audience and is seeing a lot more 20’s and 30’s ladies coming into the store, many after seeing their mother’s sporting a wonderful outfit.
